Bombing of Libya: Russian, Chinese and Indian diplomacy

mei 31, 2011

Libya is still bombed by NATO and the Libyan civilians are the first victims of these bombings. They are not only wounded and killed  but they are also victim of the total destruction of the country as was the case with the NATO bombings of Yugoslavia which destroyed hospitals, schools, bridges, warehouses and so on.

If the U.N. and the U.N.-members will really protect the Libyan civilians, NATO has to stop its bombings and there must come an immediately ceasefire. Thereafter all the Libyan parties have to start negotiations (without foreign interference) for the rebuilding of the country. That’s the only solution.

We will contact the Russian, Chinese and Indian embassies about it.

Libya: NATO hits oil port of Ras Lanouf

mei 16, 2011

Are the Libyan oil terminals also a part of the ‘no fly zone’ of the United Nations ? The United Nations were just telling us nonsense. They can better stop the blocking of all the UN resolutions critical of Israel if they want gain a little credibility…

Libya: NATO hits oil port of Ras Lanouf

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) – NATO aircraft have blasted an oil terminal in a key eastern city in a nightfall strike, Libyan TV reported, after Britain urged the alliance to widen its assault on areas controlled by ruler Moammar Gadhafi. Libya’s deputy foreign minister Khaled Kaim sharply condemned that call, describing it as a “provocation.”
The Libya TV report said NATO bombs on Sunday hit methanol tanks at the oil port of Ras Lanouf, causing leaks. NATO officials had no immediate comment…

mei 15, 2011

On Friday, the head of the Italian Foreign Ministry, Franco Frattini, told on a news conference in Tuscany that “It is likely that Gaddafi is hurt as a result of the NATO bombings”. He also suggested that the colonel had already left Tripoli.

Russia: NATO violates U.N. mandate

mei 14, 2011

Belgrade, April 19 2011 (Reuters) – Russia said on Tuesday Western attempts to topple Muammar Gaddafi were a violation of a U.N. resolution on Libya, which only authorised the use of force to protect civilians. “The U.N. Security Council never aimed to topple the Libyan regime,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on a visit to Belgrade. “All those who are currently using the U.N. resolution for that aim are violating the U.N. mandate,” he said. Libya: Hillary Clinton lies

mei 13, 2011

Hillary Clinton lies – The decision to attack Gaddafi and to bomb Libya was already taken before the UN voted on Libya

March 1, 20111 – Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon on Tuesday said he believed a no-fly zone should be imposed on Libya to stop a “danger of genocide”. Speaking at a conference in Brussels, Ayalon said international moves to impose a no-fly zone over Libya to stop Moamer Kadhafi using air strikes against his own people, had not been discussed by the Israeli government. “If you ask me personally, I think it should be imposed. There is a danger of genocide. Morally we have to stop it”, Ayalon said, adding “Its best to have the UN’s okay.” (AFP)

March 2, 2011 (1 day after the declaration of Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon) – Message to America and Europe: Spare us the crocodile tears over Libya – US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said that a no-fly zone could be imposed on Libya, in order to prevent Gaddafi from bombing his own people. She has also hinted strongly that direct military intervention is on the cards and said that it is time for Gaddafi to go. This has been echoed in Britain by David Cameron who has said that Britain will never abandon the Libyan people in their struggle against Gaddafi. These actions and statements are being made in the name of human rights and humanitarian concerns but beware of such crocodile tears.

March 2, 2011 (1 day after the declaration of Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon) – US general cautious on no-fly option – US secretary of state Hillary Clinton warned Libya could either become a “peaceful democracy” or erupt into civil war. Ms Clinton said Washington understood the Libyan opposition wanted to “be seen as doing this by themselves” as its rebels try to dislodge Mr Gaddafi and his forces. But she said the Pentagon and NATO allies have “begun to look at potential planning, preparedness in the event that we feel it’s necessary for both humanitarian and other reasons that there would have to be actions taken.” She said “one of those actions that is under review is a no-fly zone,” where Libyan warplanes and helicopters would be grounded by US and allied military forces to prevent them from attacking the Libyan people.

March 9, 2011 (8 days after the declaration of Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon) – ‘Any decision to impose a no-fly zone over Libya should be made by the UN and not by Washington, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said. Mrs Clinton said it was important such a move came from the Libyan people, rather than being a US-led effort.’ Mrs Clinton reiterated her government’s call for Col Gaddafi to step down peacefully, but warned that the crisis in Libya could be protracted.

Action before the NATO-buildings in Brussels

mei 13, 2011

Nato Brussels headquarters to cost €1billion

Nato’s new headquarters in Brussels will cost its members €1billion (£841 million) at a time of deep cuts to British defence budgets and despite promises by the Alliance to cut its costs.

Officials confirmed the rising scale of the cost against a background of Nato pledges to reduce its command structure, agencies and national HQs by 30 per cent in response to savage defence cuts in most of its 28 member states. But despite the promises of cuts to Nato bureaucracy, construction began in mid-December on a stylish new building to house military officials. Work is scheduled to finish in 2015.
