The UN is a criminal organization: depleted uranium

juli 5, 2011

Libya was bombed with more than 5.000 uranium bombs. And that happened with an UN-mandate.

Cities in Iraq where Depleted Uranium (DU) weapons were heavily used, such as Basra, Samara, Baghdad, Mosul and probably especially Fallujah, which was virtually leveled in a November 2004 Marine assault, areshowing high rates of birth defects, many of which, along with unusually high rates of leukemia, medical experts say are emblematic of fetal radiation damage.

A University of Michigan peer-reviewed study of births in Fallujah (Iraq) published in December 2010 found that of 547 births in Fallujah General Hospital in May of 2010, six years after the all-out US assault on that city of 300,000, in which DU weapons were reportedly used widely, 15% of babies had birth defects–a rate more than five times higher than the global average of 2-3%.

So they are not killing Libyan people now but they kill also the future generations while UN declares on its website: ‘In 2001, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) published the findings from the first-ever assessment on the environmental impact of the use of depleted uranium (DU) originating from a real conflict situation. This work was conducted in Kosovo in 2000 and followed-up one year later in Serbia and Montenegro. Since then, UNEP has become a reference in the scientific community regarding the impacts of DU when used in a conflict situation.’

Obama and his comrades bomb Libya with uranium bombs

juli 5, 2011

NATO bombed Libya and the Libyan civilians more than 5.000 times with uranium-bombs. NATO uses its UN-mandate for it. That is very strange because UN is just cleaning up the uranium in Gaza, Libanon, Iraq and Afghanistan ‘to protect’ civilians…

UNEP is the designated authority of the United Nations system in environmental issues at the global and regional level. Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. The mandate and objectives of UNEP emanate from United Nations General Assembly resolution 2997 (XXVII) of 15 December 1972 and subsequent amendments adopted at UNCED in 1992, the Nairobi Declaration on the Role and Mandate of UNEP, adopted at the Nineteenth Session of the UNEP Governing Council, and the Malmö Ministerial Declaration of 31 May, 2000.

UNEP’s responsibilities include:
– Promoting international cooperation in the field of the environment and recommending appropriate policies.
– Catalysing action to address major environmental threats.
– Monitoring the status of the global environment and gathering and disseminating environmental information.
– Facilitating the coordination of United Nations activities on matters concerned with the environment, and ensuring, through cooperation, liaison and participation, that their activities take environmental considerations into account.
– Helping, upon request, environment ministries and other environmental authorities, in particular in developing countries and countries with economies in transition, to formulate and implement environmental policies.
– Helping to develop international environmental law.
– Providing expert advice on the development and use of environmental concepts and instruments.
– Developing regional programmes for the environment. The major results of UNEP activities should include:
– International arrangements to enhance environmental protection and policy advice to governments, multilateral organisations and others to strengthen environmental protection and incorporate the environment into the sustainable development process.
– Periodic assessments and scientifically sound forecasts to support decision making and international consensus on the main environmental threats and responses to them.
– More effective coordination of environmental matters within the United Nations system.
– Greater public awareness and capacity for environmental management and effective national and international responses to environmental threats.

In 2001, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) published the findings from the first-ever assessment on the environmental impact of the use of depleted uranium (DU) originating from a real conflict situation. This work was conducted in Kosovo in 2000 and followed-up one year later in Serbia and Montenegro. Since then, UNEP has become a reference in the scientific community regarding the impacts of DU when used in a conflict situation.

Nato has an UN-mandate to bomb Libya with uranium bombs

juli 4, 2011

The UN is specialized in the removal of depleted uranium in Serbia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Gaza and Libanon. Why then NATO has an UN-mandate to bomb Libya with bombs of depleted uranium ?

Did the UN signed a deal with NATO (‘You may continue bombing with uranium bombs if we may clean up the uranium’) ?

NATO bombs civilians for the invasion of Libya

juni 19, 2011

Russia, which has always been against the military means of settling the conflict, has sent his peace mediator Mikhail Margelov to Libya, in order to try to persuade the warring sides to start talking.

After having spoken to representatives from both sides, Margelov said that ‘everyone is ready for negotiations, but NATO should first stop the airstrikes’.
Tunisia has come up with a proposal to hold the talks on its soil.

At the same time NATO and its rebels reject every peace proposal during several months. So it is clear that NATO and Libya’s former colonizer Italy, are just trying to gain time for their invasion. It is therefore that Obama said before the American congress that we have not to see the more than 4.000 bombings of Libya as a war but as a ‘mission’. These are the classic lies that precede a full-scale war.

As the American congressmen and the Russion diplomats wake up, it will be too late.

2) As a reminder: Sderot resident and Canadian citizen Cherna Rosenberg has filed a million dollar law suit against two Canadian organizations raising money to sponsor a ship – The Canadian Boat to Gaza – to join the international flotilla to Gaza. Rosenberg’s lawyers are asking the court to order the groups to pay damages in the amount of $1,000,000 for trauma and injury, $20,000 in renovation and relocation costs, as well as an injunction prohibiting the groups to raise money for the flotilla and to send goods to Gaza.  http://www.jpost.com/

3) As a reminder:
On 1.3.2011 Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon said he believed a no-fly zone should be imposed on Libya to stop a “danger of genocide”. Speaking at a conference in Brussels, Ayalon said international moves to impose a no-fly zone over Libya to stop Moamer Kadhafi using air strikes against his own people, ‘had not been discussed by the Israeli government’. ‘There is a danger of genocide in Libya. Morally we have to stop it and its best to have the UN’s okay,” he said. (AFP) Ayalon was the Israeli ambassador in the U.S.     On 2.3.2011 (one day after the visit of Danny Ayalon to Brussels, headquarter of NATO), US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that a no-fly zone could be imposed on Libya, ‘in order to prevent Gaddafi from bombing his own people’. She hinted strongly that ‘direct military intervention is on the cards’ and said that ‘it is time for Gaddafi to go’.

4) As a reminder: The drones (unmanned aircraft) used by NATO to bomb Afghanistan, Pakistan and Libya are designed by Israel. The Israelis are denied entry into Afghanistan, but nevertheless, the Israeli drones provide ‘security’ for the coalition in Afghanistan. Israeli drones are used by Canada, France, Australia and Germany in Afghanistan. Today, Israeli specialists are on the air base at Ein Shemer for training the flight of “Herons” repainted in the colors of Germany. Many of Israeli military products are standard NATO-compatible.

Bombing of Libya: Congressmen brings Obama to Federal Court

juni 17, 2011

The American Constitution…
During his reelection campaign in 1936, Roosevelt warned the American people of a threatening new tyranny: ‘Liberty requires opportunity to make a living – a living which gives man not only enough to live by, but something to live for.

For too many of us the political equality we once had won was meaningless in the face of economic inequality. A small group had concentrated into their own hands an almost complete control over other people’s property, other people’s money, other people’s labor – other people’s lives.
These economic royalists complain that we seek to overthrow the institutions of America. What they really complain of is that we seek to take away their power. In vain they seek to hide behind the Flag and the Constitution.’

African leaders demand Halt to bombing of Libya !

juni 16, 2011

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

June 15 (Bloomberg) — African leaders today demanded an immediate end to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s bombing campaign in Libya and called for the African Union and United Nations to take the lead in reaching a political solution.

“We have not voted for a substitute for bombing of one group by the other,” South Africa’s Foreign Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane told reporters in New York, referring to the UN resolution authorizing military action against Libya leader Muammar Qaddafi’s regime, which her government supported. “All forms of military intervention and bombing must stop now.”

Nkoana-Mashabane and ministers of Mali, Mauritania, Uganda and Republic of Congo, which formed the AU’s Ad Hoc Committee on Libya, expressed their concern about the NATO bombing campaign to the UN Security Council. Adoption of a draft statement demanding a “complete end to violence and all attacks against and abuses of civilians” was blocked by the U.S. and other Western nations.

Western and Arab leaders have demanded an end to Qaddafi’s four-decade rule, and NATO aircraft have targeted his forces in a military campaign about to enter its fourth month.

“This was a meeting for expressions of frustration,” said Ambassador Nestor Osorio of Colombia, a Security Council member. Ambassador Jose Moraes Cabral of Portugal, also a council member, said Uganda’s Foreign Minister Ruhakana Rugunda suggested the NATO intervention amounted to “going back to colonialism” in Africa.

Call from Russia, China

The meeting in New York followed a statement today by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a security alliance led by China and Russia and including the former Soviet states of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, urging an end to the NATO campaign. “Domestic conflicts and crises have to be regulated exclusively by peaceful means, through political dialogue,” the group said in Astana, Kazakhstan, where it is holding a summit.

The African ministers stopped short of directly criticizing the NATO campaign, saying only that it has contributed to a humanitarian crisis rather than a political solution.

“The situation also underscores the moral and also political imperative to seek a rapid solution, to spare the suffering of the civilian population, create conditions for the return of sustainable peace in Libya and to spare the region from new tribulations that stand the risk of plunging it back into instability,” Mauritania’s Foreign Minister Hamady Ould Hamady said.

South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma was more direct yesterday in Cape Town, saying the UN resolution authorizing military action was “being abused for regime change, political assassinations and foreign military occupation.”

Hamady called for an “immediate humanitarian pause” in the fighting and expressed the AU’s “surprise and disappointment at the attempts to marginalize the continent in the management of the Libyan conflict.”

Britain’s Ambassador Mark Lyall Grant said a precondition of a halt to the NATO bombing was a cessation of attacks on civilians by the Qaddafi regime.

“The ball is in Qaddafi’s court,” Lyall Grant said.
