A Belgian Involved in Fighting with Terrorist Groups Killed in Syria

Jun 10, 2013

Italian news agency AKI said a twenty-year-old Belgian youth has been killed in Syria after entering Syrian and joining the armed terrorist groups in it.

The agency quoted local sources as saying that the youth, named Tariq, is a brother of a young man who has just been arrested on his return to Belgium from Syria last week.

There is uncertain information proving that the two brothers are belonging to a newly dismantled extremist cell called “a Sharia for Belgium.” According to the agency.

Earlier, Belgian officials exchanged accusations over the phenomena of young Belgians going to fight alongside the armed terrorist groups in Syria.

A number of ministers of the current Belgian government have faced sharp criticism for doing nothing in this regard. Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders criticized the refusal of Belgian Interior and Justice Ministries to provide him with information about the youth who went to or preparing themselves to go to Syria.

The issue of the Europeans who went to fight in Syria under the name of Jihad and finding more effective means for tackling this issue was repeatedly reviewed by the European Ministers but in vain.

It is supposed that 80 to 100 Belgians, mostly extremists and underage, have joined the armed terrorist groups in Syria.

Syria: Journalist Ali Abbas was killed by the U.S.

augustus 12, 2012

On August 1, 2012,   Obama signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for the gangs  seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government.  Obama’s order, approved earlier this year and known as an intelligence “finding,” broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could help the armed gangs oust Assad.  That is why so many  journalists of  SANA are killed and why the building of the Syrian TV was bombed some days ago. The website of the Syrian News Agency SANA is also regularly blocked by Washington that doesn’t stop its war propaganda and its military aid to the gangs in Syria.

Martyr Journalist Ali Abbas Paid Final Tributes

Aug 12, 2012

DAMASCUS, (SANA) – The body of the martyr journalist Ali Abbas, head of the Internal News Department at the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA ), was escorted from the Police Hospital in Harasta to his final resting place in Lattakia.

Solemn processions were held for the martyr who was assassinated by an armed terrorist group in his home in Jdeidet Artouz in Damascus Countryside.

The martyr’s brother, Captain Hussam Abbas held the international community responsible for this heinous crime through issuing decisions and imposing sanctions against the Syrian media as to prevent it from conveying the reality of what is taking place in Syria.

He added that this criminal act is another desperate attempt to silence the free and resistant voice which revealed the false and misleading news broadcast by satellite channels against Syria.

For his part, the martyr’s brother, Tammam Abbas, said that this crime exposed the reality of the armed terrorist groups backed by Arab and foreign sides, adding that attacking journalists aimed at assassinating the truth.

Journalist Safira Ismael said that martyr Abbas was noted for devotion to duty, high morals and diplomacy, adding that those who assassinated him increased determination of SANA workers to exert more efforts to reveal their deeds and crimes and protect the homeland.

In turn , journalist Hanadi Dayoub said that the martyr’s hardworking was an example for all of us, adding that targeting media cadres will not bow them down and that they will continue their mission in conveying the truth and facing the hostile media war.

Journalist Shahida Ajeeb said that martyr Abbas joined his colleagues and other sons of the homeland who sacrificed themselves to defend Syria in the face of the war aimed at undermining its people and land.

She added that the organized targeting of the national media which SANA is essential part of it came to weaken its national role in revealing the reality and exposing the essence of terrorism against Syria.

Martyr Ali Abbas was born in Dahr Barakat in Lattakia in 1975. He graduated from the Faculty of Information in 1997 – 1998. He started work at the Syrian Arab News Agency in 2002. He worked as head of the Internal News Department at the Agency before his martyrdom. He is single.

‘No-fly zone’ Libya

april 7, 2011

They didn’t know that there is some difference between a ‘no-fly zone’ and a ‘bombing zone’

The BBC’s Wyre Davies: “There is a lot of anger and confusion at the hospital”

Rebels in eastern Libya say their forces have been mistakenly hit in a Nato air raid.

Doctors in Ajdabiya told the BBC at least 13 rebel fighters had been killed by the strike on a rebel tank position.

The BBC’s Wyre Davies reports chaotic scenes on the outskirts of Ajdabiya, with rebel forces in retreat reporting being hit by Nato air strikes.

It is the third such incident in recent days involving international forces deployed to protect Libyan civilians.

One rebel commander told the BBC he saw at least four missiles land among rebel fighters.

Many people have been killed and many more have been injured, he said.

Civilians are reported to be fleeing Ajdabiya in their thousands, according to the latest wire reports, after rumours spread that Gaddafi forces were preparing to attack the city.

Rebel angerThe rebels had been taking a group of tanks, armoured vehicles and rocket launchers near the front line between the towns of Ajdabiya and Brega in more than 30 transporters.

Whether or not a Nato pilot mistook all of that heavy armour for Gaddafi weaponry remains unclear.

Following the apparent Nato attack, ambulances were seen heading in the opposite direction, towards the hospital in Ajdabiya.

There is considerable anger among rebel troops after what appears to have been a terrible mistake.

They are asking why rebel units were hit, when they could be seen clearly advancing in a westerly direction towards the front line.

“It is unbelievable,” said one Benghazi resident. “Nato, with all the equipment they have – is this the second mistake? Is it really a mistake or something arranged secretly.”

Another said: “The allies and the UN Security Council must allow us to be armed. We don’t want anything, just to be armed to defend ourselves against this dictator and fascist.”

Rebel forces in the area began retreating on Wednesday after heavy bombardment from government forces.

They had been calling for more Nato air strikes in recent days.

Nato is said to be looking into the incident.

‘Friendly-fire incidents’The alliance took over a week ago air operations from a US, French and British coalition to enforce a UN mandate to protect civilians in Libya.

Last Friday, at least 13 people were reportedly killed when a coalition plane fired on a rebel convoy between Brega and Ajdabiya.

Three medical students were among the dead.

The attack came after rebels reportedly fired an anti-aircraft gun.

In a separate incident, seven civilians died and 25 were hurt in a coalition air strike on a pro-Gaddafi convoy near Brega.
